Abstract
Service-oriented architecture offers a high-level and integrated access to data and applications. Using Data Services, together with Service Data Objects, developers can now refer to conceptual models of business entities rather than storage structures. They are relieved from the burden of repetitive low-level tasks such as joining tables.
Sadly, a vast community of developers does not as yet enjoy this relief. They are end-user programmers and their programming environment of choice is the spreadsheet. In this demonstration, we present Spreadator, a proposal to address the problem of spreadsheet integration with service oriented architecture that acts as a generic bridge between data services and spreadsheets.
